The Five Pillars of Islam are building blocks of Islamic Beliefs




Islam means submission to the will of Almighty Allah based on important principles that are known as Arkan Islam (pillars). There are five Pillars of Islam which are considered as the foundation of Muslim life: The Holy Quran mentioned them as a structure for worship and a sign of commitment to faith. Those five Pillars of Islam are Shahadah, Salat (Prayer), Zakaat (Almsgiving), Roza (Fasting), and Hajj (pilgrim).
According to the Hadith  “Islam is built upon five pillars: the testimony that there is no god Except  Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; establishing regular prayer (Salat); paying the Zakaat; Hajj (pilgrimage) and fasting Ramadan.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, no. 8)

1). Kalma Shahadah (Declaration of Faith)
This is the first pillars of Islam which means that there is no God except Allah and Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) is the Messenger of Almighty Allah (God).According to this statement the purpose of Muslim Life is to serve & obey Allah (God) and spend their life according to the teachings and practices of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).
                                   
2).Salat (Prayer)

Salat is the second Pillar of Islam which means obligatory prayers that are offered five times every day by Muslim. Salat is considered is direct link between the Muslim worshipper and Almighty Allah. All of These 5 Salat includes verses from the Qur'an, and are known as language of the Revelation in Arabic Language.

3). Zakat (Charity)
This is the third one pillar of Islam that means Zakat means purification and growth.  According to this Every   Muslim (who able to pay Zakat) should pay a portion of his wealth for the benefits of poor and needy people in society. With the help of Zakat social welfare can be increased and poverty will be decreased.

4) Roza (Fasting)
This is the fourth one pillar of Islam that means fasting or abstains from eating and drinking during daylight hours in the Holy month of Ramadan. Fasting gives the lesson of how to be patient, maintain peaceful life and spread prosperous environment in society.
5) The Hajj (Pilgrimage)
This is the final and fifth one pillar of Islam means the pilgrimage to Makka and obligatory for those Muslim who able physically and financially. More than 20 Lacks people go to Maka every year across globe providing opportunity for those of different nations to meet one another.
